About Us

Our owner and founder,Randon Rickard, inherited a strong work ethic from his family. It was further honed while working for a cabinet maker at age 14 and rebuilding his parents’ house at age 18 after it was destroyed by a flood. In 1987 he began working for a Northern Virginia builder renovating apartments into condos, and after 12 years developing his carpentry and design skills, Randon opened Rickards Renovation in 1999.

Our company, located in Northern Virginia, maintains a Class A license and is bonded and insured. Our motto is old fashioned customer service which means good communication during every phase of a project and a personal presence on all jobs to make sure each project is moving ahead smoothly. We offer the feel of a small company feel with the resource benefits of a large company.

We are a complete renovation company for any home improvement. We specialize in additions, kitchens, baths, custom furniture or built-ins, basements, sun rooms and decks. If you can dream it, we can build it. We do not cut corners on any project. Randon teaches his crews to be aware of any materials that may compromise the integrity of structure or final look of your project. Each crewmember is trained as a skilled craftsman to provide custom alternatives or replacement of the inferior product. We warranty all our work for a minimum of twelve months.

We have an excellent, professional staff, and we work with local designers and architects to help you create your home, your way. Have you ever tried to explain what you wanted and could not express it, or you were persuaded to benefit from the choices of the architect, designer or builder? We believe your project should be a reflection of you. We will listen and work with you to make sure your project is just the way you envisioned it… with “a personal touch.” Just ask our customers!!

Come visit our showroom where you can leisurely browse through pictures, magazines, or catalogs to give you plenty of ideas. You can even make your selections for your project right from our showroom. Our staff is available to answer any of your questions, but no sales person will pressure you.
